On December 4, a fire destroyed Rob and Judy Moerman's Abbe Lane Kennels in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Six of their 10 prized German Shorthaired Pointers (GSPs) present in the kennel at the time were killed. Several were to deliver their litters the following week. The Moermans have been breeding family hunting dogs for nearly 40 years. Over the years, the Moermans became one of the country's best known breeders of GSPs. They have sent GSPs to every state except Hawaii.

We became aware of this during our stay at Palm Creek Golf and RV Resort in Arizona through friends we've made here who are also friends of the Moermans. They frequently traveled to Arizona. Many of us have contributed to a fund to help the Moermans recover from the tragedy.
As part of this effort to help the Moermans recover, Linda will be donating 10% of her receipts of LLGorman Pet Art commissions to the fund for an unspecified time for sales outside of Eastern Plumas County. For sales within Eastern Plumas County, Linda will continue with her pledge to contribute 10% to the High Sierra Animal Rescue in Portola.
